Read John’s testimony from his healing
with Roll Out PTSD

My name is John, I’m a permanently disabled veteran who struggles with PTSD. I recently lost my younger brother to suicide who was also a disabled veteran suffering from PTSD. My trip to Puerto Rico was a life-changing experience…

Respect PTSD

Everyone with PTSD—whether they are Veterans or civilian survivors of sexual assault, serious accidents, natural disasters, or other traumatic events—needs to know that treatments really do work and can lead to a better quality of life.

Urgent Need To Help Family in Afghanistan

It has recently come to our attention that the family of my former interpreter were unable to evacuate after the fall of Afghanistan last year.  After the Taliban took over travel was greatly restricted.  People who were involved with the US military and their families now had a target on their backs.  My interpreter’s family has been questioned and harassed during this trying time.

We already have all the paperwork to get the family out of the danger in Afghanistan and to Uganda.  A safer location with US Governmental presence.  All is set to reunite the family the only thing we lack is the funding to purchase plane tickets and supplemental expenses that may arise.  We have estimated that this would cost a total of $7,000 to accomplish this mission and that we have at best a 3-week timeframe to get this done as the situation on the ground has been deteriorating recently.

This is not our mission at Roll Out PTSD, but when family is in need we cannot stand by.  Below is my contact information as well as the officers of Roll Out PTSD.  Please reach out to us if you have any additional questions.

You can donate at

or we can supply our bank account information upon request.
Thank you for your time and your generosity.  I have supplied a more detailed brief on the current situation below.  Your help is the final step needed to move this family away from the daily fear of retribution and forward on the path to reunification.’

God Bless,

Mission Statement

Roll Out PTSD started as an idea in 2017.  Michael Ledford, founder and combat veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars; that all veterans, specifically combat veterans like himself essentially need a specific type of healing. Our mission is to create or rebuild the sense of family and community, to feel welcomed and loved once again and to break with the painful reality of trauma caused by extreme distressed experiences, which can significantly deteriorate the quality of life and pursuit of happiness.

The program focuses on providing veterans with a safe, exciting, and effective space to facilitate the idea of really living with trauma. The goal is to alleviate and organize individuals, their families, and any person suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder to cope and maintain a healthy lifestyle, enjoy interactions with other individuals, and have fun.  Roll Out PTSD incorporates the help of various professionals in the areas of mental health, sports, and arts to allow veterans to experience activities in Puerto Rico.  Participants will interact with nature and grow with communities to foster team building and a sense of relief from everyday stresses to strategically achieve goals and find hope for a better tomorrow.  Through partnerships with local providers and professionals, Roll Out PTSD will be a one stop networking family that will enable experiences through nature healing events such as hiking, kayaking, surfing, equine assisted therapy.  As well as wellbeing activities like yoga, gourmet and nutritional cuisine, and participation in diverse humanitarian and community efforts.

“Roll Out PTSD is ultimately, veterans working together to heal with a purpose.  Going back into our elements to help the weak.  Comradery in Life is our motto.  Our mission is to bring awareness of PTSD, which is as real as any visible injury.”

Have an Adventure

Veterans go from highly stressful and dangerous situations to civilian life in what feels like a moment.  Engaging in activities that get the blood flowing brings them closer to the world they left that helps them engage in the world in a more familiar way.
